Newark G.A.L.S., Inc. mission is to enhance the productivity and/or accomplishments of girls and young women from the City of Newark, New Jersey and surrounding areas by providing them with core services including educational and career planning, recreational and cultural experiences, and social guidance and skills.
About Us
Newark G.A.L.S. Inc., was founded in 2012 by Genique Flournoy-Hamilton and LaMonica Mclver, two Newark, NJ natives.
Mrs. Flournoy-Hamilton is a graduate of University High School in Newark, NJ, alumni of Tuskegee University and Rutgers University Graduate School of Social Work and School Counseling. She is currently a Vice Prinicpal in the City of Newark.
LaMonica McIver is a graduate of Central High School in Newark, NJ alumni of Bloomfield College and Seton Hall University Graduate School of Education. She is currently working as a Director of Human Resources in South Jersey.
After growing up and serving in the Newark community, the passion to help young women became an essential mission of these two ladies. The hope of these women is to give back to young girls in the community that gave to them.
